BAYONNE, FRANCE, OCTOBER 6, 2026: Students joined by trade unions, education workers and supporters demonstrate in central Bayonne over shortages of staff and resources in France's public education system and what organizers describe as police repression of the student movement. The rally forms part of nationwide protests that have seen students blockade hundreds of schools since September, demanding more teachers, smaller classes and improved conditions in educational facilities.
