
KATHMANDU, NEPAL, SEPTEMBER 18, 2026: Bodies of approximately 50 unidentified victims of the August 26 flash floods are transported for temporary burial at Gokarneshwor in Kathmandu as authorities continue efforts to identify those recovered from the disaster. Relatives wait at the morgue of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, where photographs of people reported missing are displayed to assist families searching for loved ones. Authorities are collecting DNA samples and maintaining records of unidentified remains to allow future identification and return to relatives.
