RAMAT GAN, ISRAEL, SEPTEMBER 20, 2026: Israelis ride bicycles, scooters and skateboards along largely empty streets in Ramat Gan as Yom Kippur begins at sunset. Motor traffic largely comes to a halt during the Jewish Day of Atonement, while worshippers attend synagogue services and observe a 25-hour period of fasting and prayer. The absence of regular traffic has also led many children and families to use the streets for cycling and other wheeled activities during the holiday. Photo by Paulina Patimer / JNA Press.
