Pieces of the parade float for the Day of the Dead parade are being placed in various locations to keep them organized, on October 24, 2026, in Mexico City, Mexico. At the Arts and Trades Factory of the East (FARO de Oriente), located in the Iztapalapa district, one of the floats for the Day of the Dead parade is being constructed. Titled "Panadero con el pan" ("Baker with the Bread"), the float is being built by artisans who specialize in alebrijes (fantastical creatures) and cartonería (traditional papier-mache/cardboard craft). They are crafting skulls, calaveras (stylized skeletal figures), and pan de muerto (traditional Day of the Dead bread) to assemble the float, which will also feature cempasúchil (marigold) flowers.
