PASAY CITY, PHILIPPINES, OCTOBER 27, 2026: Environmental activists protest against Executive Order 122 and the US-led Pax Silica initiative during the Mining Philippines 2026 conference in Pasay City. Demonstrators call for the order’s repeal, warning that expanded mineral extraction threatens the environment and local communities. The order designates critical mineral projects as national priorities and accelerates the privatization of government-owned critical mineral mining assets. (Photo by Charles Edmon S.
