BARCELONA, SPAIN, SEPTEMBER 30, 2026: Housing activists gather for a second consecutive night at a protest encampment in Placa de Catalunya in central Barcelona, setting up tents and displaying placards calling for housing reform and stronger protections against evictions. Protesters continued to demand measures promoted by housing groups under the name “Decreto Maricarmen,” as the encampment remained in place following the Spanish government’s approval of new housing measures.
