MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA – OCTOBER 7, 2026: A day-long vigil in solidarity with the people of Gaza was held at the State Library of Victoria, with attendees taking part in a sit-in from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, followed by a commemoration from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM to honour and remember people killed in Gaza. During the vigil, attendees made paper poppies and placed them throughout the garden in front of the library. A car marked with numerous bullet holes, presented as a representation of the vehicle in which Hind Rajab was trapped and killed in Gaza, was displayed at the site.
