MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA – OCTOBER 7, 2026: A vigil in solidarity with the people of Gaza was held at the State Library of Victoria, with attendees participating in a sit-in from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, followed by a commemoration event from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM to remember those killed. During the event, Avi Yemini of Rebel News Australia arrived with a crew seeking interviews with attendees. Police formed a barricade, while event marshals and police maintained a line to prevent Yemini and his crew from entering the vigil area.
